After a long run, we need something easy to whip up to re-fuel our muscles and nourish our bodies. Keep fruit stashed in your freezer to keep smoothie bowls easy and hassle free after a workout.
Anybody who knows me knows that I’m pretty much incapable of giving exact measurements when it comes to several of my recipes, but I think that’s part of the fun of being in the kitchen and being creative. The basics of what I blended together here are:
frozen bananas
frozen blueberries
a dash of cinnamon
a little local honey
juice of a lemon
a dash of maca powder
a little almond milk
Toppings are endless! I just used granola, strawberries, and flaxseed/hemp seed mixture.
You want a smoothie bowl to be thick, so go light on the liquid you choose to use and make sure your fruit is frozen! Add in frozen spinach to up your greens!
