I hope that this past week has been acheivable to you with the recommendations that I had given you. It is my intention to create and implement healthy habits into your life that are easy, enjoyable, and realistic! As we know, a health is a lifestyle change and not an overnight quick fix. Anything that claims to achieves your goals overnight is fleeting! It can't sustain. I want to be able to give you the tools that you need to make healthy changes slowly so they become habits in your life and something that you can pass down to your children, friends, or those in your life you love as they continue to grow and learn from you about what is truly important in life! Your health, our relationship with God, and the love we extend to others. You influence people in your circle more than you realize!
So, last week, I had you hydrating. I had you trying to get into the habit of having a water bottle ( extra points for lemon!) with you at all times. This is probalby the single, easiest, most best-est thing you could ever do to improve your health! I also had you moving with intention in your daily activities. Moving with intent while you are cleaning and doing chores, playing with your kids, sneeking in a few squats before you hop in the shower, and engaging your core muscles while walking are all easy ways to tone muscle and burn calories while doing what needs to be done anyways! This is an excellent way to get in your "daily workout" without even changing up your current schedule! Keep it up!
This week, we are going to step it up. In addition to your water bottle habit and sneaking in workouts to your daily activities, I want you to try and add in a handful (or more) of fruits and/or veggies before at least 2 of your meals. This may require a little prep time if you will be traveling or on working days. Even if you are driving through a drive thru for your diner, bring along a small snack sized ziplock full of strawberries, carrots, apple slices, cucumbers, an orange, or whatever it is that you enjoy! This ensures you are getting in nutrients and fiber and will also feed your cells, making you less likely to over eat on unhealthy things throughout the day. Small steps and integration is key to lasting change!
Then, I want you to find 15-20 minutes in your day to walk outside. Even if its walking around your property or neighborhood. Get in the sun, build you an inspiring playlist to listen to, and make this a daily routine. You may can even achieve this on your lunch break at work if time allows! Dont forget to engage your core!
Also, here's a challenge for you. Choose a new recipe to cook for your family. Sharing a meal that we prepared for our loved ones is an easy way to make them feel the love you are giving them!
Rise the tides, yall!
