This drink has become part of my regular morining routine. I will typically make a large mason jar full and either half it into a smaller bottle (like the one I pictured above) or more than likely, drink it directly from the jar. Because this drink has "spices" in it, I often get questioned about it. Everybody always ask what it is, why I drink it, and what the heck is in it! I've always just made this drink "to taste" so it has been difficult to share what the actual recipe is. So, I've done my best to measure everything out for you! (Update: I really did try to measure it out. Gah! I just couldn't get it to taste the way I like it. So I have terms like "dashes" below. Think of these as a literal dash from a spice jar or even a small pinch of an ingredient.)
There are hundreds of versions of this detox drink out there and for good reason.
This drink SHOULD be made to taste.
To be honest, this drink isn't for everyone. My recipe has gotten stronger over time, but I have grown to love the taste and even crave it! At this point, the benefits are just a perk to me because I actually enjoy it for taste now.
I'll share my recipe below, but please know that I fully expect you to tweak it to how you like it. And when you do, please share what you have done different so other people can try!
After the recipe, I'll share the amazing benefits of this drink.
I'm only slightly obsessed with lemons, so this drink is basically my super hero.
Things you will need:
32 oz jar (mason jar with lid works excellent)
Hand juicer
cutting board and knife
Apple cider vinegar (with the mother)
1 whole lemon
Cinnamon
Tumeric
Ginger
Cayenne pepper
Honey
Water/ice
Directions:
Start by cutting your lemon in half. You will need the juice of one whole lemon for this drink.
Juice both halves of the lemon into the jar.
Add in about 2 tablespoons of ACV.
I like to add in 1/4 teaspoons of tumeric to the mix. Feel free to add less if this is too strong for you.
Next, add in about a tablespoon of honey. You can add more if you like it sweeter, but I like the tangy taste.
The remaining ingredients (cinnamon, ginger, cayenne pepper) were hard for me to measure. I have tried multiple versions of this recipe and I found myself "tweaking" each one. As I mentioned before, this drink should be made to taste. So experiment for yourself with these measurements and ingredients and share them with the group!
I use a "dash" of cinnamon, a "dash" of ginger, and a couple "dashes" of cayenne pepper. I really enjoy the kick that it gives this drink.
Stir the mixture with a spoon and then fill your mason jar to the top with ice. I understant that this hardens the honey, but once the ice melts a bit, the honey will eventually dissolve.
Fill the jar to the top with water. Put on the mason jar lid, give it a shake to mix it well, and enjoy!
Like I mentioned above, you can drink it straight from the jar or separte it into smaller jars to enjoy over time. Store the rest in the fridge for no more than 2 days.

This drink taste excellent warm as well! To enjoy it warm, I would half this recipe and pour hot (careful, not too hot!) water over the ingredients, stir, and sip!
Benefits:
Boosts digestion- ACV and lemon both act similar to digestive enzymes.
Aids in weight loss-ACV helps to curb appetite
Balances pH levels in the body-Lemons are amazingly alkalizing! The fruit itself is acidic, but the fruits effects are opposite within our bodies.
Flushes out toxins- The combos in this drink make it a natural diuredic, helping you to rid of toxins.
Liver support-helps in detoxing the body and flushing out toxins.
Controls levels of bad bacteria in the gut.
Clears the skin- high in antioxidants!
High in antioxidants-helps to fight against oxidation in our bodies and supports healthy skin and blood.
High in potassium- potassium helps support our brain, heart, and nerves!
Immunity- Lemon acts as an antibacterial and antiviral, plus they are high in vitamin c.
